Fly away through the midnight air

Posted in Uncategorized by trishbendix on March 12, 2008

Last night we took Rachel out to dinner in celebration of her turning 26. We went to the Bluebird, a new gastropub in Bucktown. We split some of their cream cheese and potato leek toast, flatbreads, spinach with lemon, beet salad and fruit/nut/baklava dessert, and had the back of the place all to ourselves. There was a child running around in the front, and when he made an appearance in the back, Rachel said, “What are youdoing here?” Not directly to the boy, but loud enough that maybe he subconsciously understood he was annoying. It was her birthday, after all.

It was nice enough to walk to and from dinner, an added bonus.
